Rilys scoops up top prize at the British Curry Awards 2011
Rilys in Redditch was one of ten restaurants to receive awards at a star-studded presentation dinner at London’s Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park.
The British Curry Awards is recognised as the industry’s 'Oscars’ and more than 1,500 restaurateurs, VIP guests and celebrities were in the audience to see the results announced by celebrity chef James Martin, host of BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen.
Guests included London Mayor Boris Johnson, Employment Minister Chris Grayling and Conservative Party co-Chairman Baroness Warsi. Prime Minister David Cameron also gave a televised video message describing the event as “uplifting and inspiring”.
